Halloween Costumes For Dogs

the devil made me do it-free_155411“Oh Titan, where are you? I have something to show you. Just wait until you see it. It is just too funny. I think I will print it out and hang it inside your condo.”

Right, like you think this is funny?

“I’m sorry Titan, but I couldn’t resist. Would you believe the devil make me do it? ”

You are beginning to sound and do things like that Momanger on Keeping Up With The Kardashians we wasted 30-minutes watching last night?

“Okay, I’ll give that one to you, it was a waste of time, but it does make things see pretty sane around here, don’t you think? Seriously, it’s that time of year again when we need to start selecting Halloween costumes for your website, so get ready. I have it scheduled for later in the week. ”

Keeping Your Dog Calm During Thunder Storms

stormfromt-sized-for-postKeeping Your Dog Calm During thunder storms can be more stressful for you than your than your dog. It takes time (and several storms) to figure out what works the best. Being born during one of the worse thunder storm and a F4 tornado, has made me kind of an expert on the matter. Thunder no matter how far away sends fear through my veins.

I have my own theory of survival when it comes to thunder storms. One clap of thunder or one flash of lightening, I am movin’ full speed ahead to find a lap to sit my behind down in and a chest to flatten out against, so I can hear a heartbeat.  On that horrific day in 2012 my Momma Doggie told my sisters and me, that if we could hear and/or feel a heart beat, we would always be safe and secure. Oh, and just so you will know, a wind-up alarm clock under a blanket does not count as a heart beat. Continue reading

Valentine Dog Toys and Clothing

sugarplum-princess-dog-bed-1WHEN it comes to valentine dog toys and clothing there are a pawzillion choices to be made. Of course being a big boy and all, I do have a definite thoughts on what I will tolerate and what I do not want to wear for Valentines. I have put Mom on notice this year – much to her dismay.

I do not want to look like a huge cupcake sprinkled with girly hearts all over the place. Phew, just getting those brown and pink colors and those sprinkle, glitzy hearts out of the way is a huge relief. Oh, and remind me to put up a major stand when it comes to that red glitzy hoodie that looks like something Elvis may have worn when leaving the building a time or two.

Thank goodness I have Dad around to put his foot down when it comes to the likes of the Sugar Plum bed above, otherwise, that would have shown up in this house on oh, about day two. Now, I will have to say I think my girlfriend Honey would look just perfect in there.

elegance-rosette-dog-dresseast-side-collection-pink-1While on the subject on Honey, I also picked out some additional goodies that would be perfect for her, like the pink pearl necklace, the hair bows and of course, the pink or purple rose dresses. Wow, what a time we could have dancing fur to fur with her wearing one of those. Continue reading

Valentine’s Day

i love my peeps shirt back viewValentine’s Day and The Look Of Love

Mom is feeling much better now, but she has been really quiet – until today. She has this iPad thingie (I have an iPaw – really I do) that she spends hours on after we snuggle into bed under the electric blanketie for the night. Last night she was cruising something called YouTube for what she calls the oldies but goodies clips of General Hospital (Luke and Laura) and Days Of Our Lives (Doug and Julie.) She found one of the Day’s clips featuring the song The Look Of Love.

Deliver me from this song – she has been humming it all day long! She is even walking with an extra spring in her step today and smiled a few times. Gee, I wonder who she is thinking about when she smiles.  Me (of course, who else could there be?)

So all of that got me to thinking about Honey, my girlfriend in Texas and Valentine’s Day. It’s coming up pretty soon you know. Continue reading

Why Puppies and Dogs Sleep So Much

sleeping-puppy-2-754054-mHave you ever wondered why puppies and dogs sleep so much? Puppies spend as much as 16 hours sleeping per day. Adult dogs spend half of their life sleeping, typically twelve hours each day. Some breeds sleep even longer each day.

Dogs sleep like humans, there are still two main types of sleep: rapid eye movement (REM) and slow wave sleep, but they wake up more frequently than humans do. Mom says to think about the last time your child or fur-child was up and down several times a night and remember just how tired you were the next morning. So although it may seem like we are sleeping a lot, we have a lot more breaks and interruptions than meet the eye.

Granted, we may sleep out of boredom, but we also know when to be awake and aware of our surroundings. Continue reading

Puppy Bowl X

Coco puppy bowl photoAnd on the field is the MVP of Puppy Bowl X,  Sir Titan.

Utt-oh, you caught me day dreaming again. You see, this year there is a puppy* that looks a lot like me in the Puppy Bowl, so I can’t wait until the actual game.

As far as mom is concerned, life is just one big intermission between Downton Abby, Shark Tank and the Puppy Bowl. The other two shows have already started and thank goodness the fur-flying Puppy Bowl happens on February 2nd.  at 3 Pm EST, on Animal Planet of course.

This year it pawmises to be uniquely different.  Despite all the puppy cuteness one could possibly handle in one afternoon, PBX has added some furry surprises.

There will be a kitty – yes I said kitty, half time program (yuk, hack, hack, yuk, just a second, I think I have a fur ball) and cheerleaders for the first time. Unique cheerleaders at that, non-other than then a really cool (get it, cool, okay, you will) group of Penguins from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Continue reading

Cold Weather Sweaters For Dogs

sweater photo 300 pxCold Weather Sweaters For Dogs?  Seriously, do dogs really need to wear sweaters during cold weather?  I wish I could answer that question without bias, but I can’t. You have to understand, mom and dad picked me up when I was eight weeks old. Within the first week in this family I had my first wardrobe of clothing – thanks to mom.

I honestly did not know enough about life at that point to be embarrassed about it. And, truthfully everything was nice, warm and snugly, not that I really needed them to be. Those were the days when I did not venture more than an inch from mom’s shoe.

My favorite was the orange hoodie. One day Mom did a photo shoot at the Louisville Slugger* Bat Museum and I tagged along unnoticed in my black Sherpa Bag. When the PR person offered Mom a tour of the manufacturing floor, we were off. I was actually going to see where and how baseball bats were made for all the best players.

Wow – talk about noise! It was really loud, so I just had to pop my head up for a better view of what all that noise was Continue reading

Cold Weather Ramblings

birch-trees-on-frosty-morning-1435173-mConsider this my very first cold weather ramblings post. It’s mid-afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky and it is a big woofing 1 degrees with a wind chill of 27 below zero. I’m not one to talk about the weather much, I’ll leave that to the older generations to do.

But when it is this cold outside you can’t do much else but think about how cold it is and the next time you have to go outside.

pugz bootsFirst off I want to know where my Pugz Boots are. Mom was going to order them last fall and I pitched a doggie-snit about it in one of my posts, so I’m guessing she didn’t do it. I sure wish I had them now. Hindsight is something we learn as we get older. I asked her about them this morning and she finally owned up to not ordering them. Continue reading

A Pool…Oh Boy, A Pool

Visions of my own swimming pool!

I am ready to roll. Dad said he was going to get a pool for me to play in during this really hot weather. A pool – all my very own! I’ve been dreaming about it all night long. I can just see us kicking back with a breweski or two and maybe some kibble.

I can’t wait to see it.  Darn, I wish I had ordered some of those really cool swimming trunks when I order the samples for my new line (selfless self-promotion here…From Siri With Love), but I had no clue I would have my own pool.

Trust me...this is NOT a pool!Okay..WHAT is this thing? You are kidding…right? You’re trying to tell me this is a pool? Not exactly what I was expecting big guy.  Guess this is what happens when your mom and dad were born in the 30’s and 40’s.

Hey, big guy…what do they call this thing?  “A galvanized wash tub – we used to do laundry in them along with a wash board and a bar of soap”.

Cool water and toy in mouth. Not bad for a hot summer day.

Oh my, this is soooooo embarrassing! I hope the neighbors can’t see me.  But it does have water in it and a few of my toys. It does look like it would be cool and at 109 degrees in Louisville, I’m in!  Ah, refreshing!!!!! Continue reading
