Dangerous Dog Treats

Hypnotic DogIt’s the beginning of a bang em’ up holiday week. The Fourth Of July – just in case you didn’t know.  A time for family fun, food and dog treats.

As far as I can see, it’s going to be a problematic week at best, or at least that’s the way it is starting out.

First of all my therapist call yesterday and cancelled my appointment on Wednesday. Some vague excuse about being on vacation and the long holiday weekend. Right, so now I’m stuck for eleven days without having anyone to bark my problems to.

I was snooping around Mom’s desk this morning (teach her to put a cushy easy chair at the end of her desk) and found sticky notes about Titan’s yearly checkup, Titan’s shots, Titan’s grooming and Coco’s overnight visit. Okay, Coco’s visits are always fun, but the rest, I don’t think so. I tried to scrunch them up and push them into the trash can, but that didn’t work out so well.  Do you have any clue how hard it is to get a sticky note off you paws? Nope, I’m definitely not in charge of this long holiday weekend.

I did get a fun new present from Dad last Friday. A bird feeder and seed, for outside the window in Mom’s office. I wonder how many times I will scare the seed right out of those birds by charging the window from that chair.  The birds haven’t found the feeder yet. Seriously how dumb are they – a built in buffet hanging out in plain sight, and they are still pecking around the back yard for food.

Valentine Day Fun

Siri Series faceFinding Valentine Day goodies on line is a major experience unto its own and not necessarily meant for us four-pawed creatures. One thing I learned for sure, they are pretty adamant about you paying for most of the goodies you choose. I tried explaining that I was almost the cutest dog on the Internet, but I quickly found out that cute will only get you so far.

IF there is one thing I dislike it is being beaten at my own game. Since this was my idea, I put on my I’m gonna win hat and kept sniffing until I came up with some really great goodies.

So grab a pawcafe’,  get ready to be amazed and start planning your Valentine’s Day now.

Boo the doggie valentine cardGuess I had better get “this one” over with first. Will this Boo character ever let me have my day in the sunshine? I guess not, but this was really too cute to pass up. http://bit.ly/titansboovalentine

Mom suggested printing out several and making candy favors. I’ll let her explain how to do that.  “Thanks Titan, your readers will really like this one. They will need a marker, paper, a color printer, scissors, a glue stick and some candy – I’m going to use M&M’s for mine and your dads and, baby Milk Bones* for yours. Print two (2) of the Boo hearts per person. Cut the hearts out.  Glue the hearts, photo side out, together around the edges, leaving a half inch opening. Fill the heart with your candy of choice and glue the opening shut. There you have it, a quick and easy candy/Milk Bone favor. Give them out as Valentine’s Day cards or place them on the dinner plates Valentine’s night. Oh, and be sure to remember that chocolate is toxic and can be lethal if eaten by your dog.”

Titan and Honey Valentines Wordall

This is a card I did for Honey, using the Wordall website.  http://bit.ly/Honeywordall

Moheart-on-nose-520827-sm uses this great photo website that has FREE photos. I checked and there are 22 pages of Valentine photos and 50 pages of Love photos. Be sure to note that the top couple rows and the bottom row of photos are from iStock photo and there is a charge for those. The middle section is where you will find the FREE photos. You will find them here, http://bit.ly/titanssxcphotos.

Another site I founamoure cared was the American Greeting Card company,  http://bit.ly/americangreeting. I found the perfect card for Honey.

Chocolate Danger For Dogs

Sick dogWhat a job this blogging thing has turned out to be. Who knew just how many opinions there would be on most topics. How is a guy supposed to know what is right or wrong? I finally decided to take that question to Mom before continuing to research today’s topic of chocolate danger for dogs.

“Titan, the Internet is a vast and wonderful resource of information. Did you know that back “in the day” to research your blog post, you would have needed to get in a car and go to the local library? Unfortunately, most libraries do not allow pets, so you would have been out of luck. The difference in library research and Internet research is the freedom of speech and press. The library research comes from professional and trusted sources. Anyone can write anything and put it on the Internet.  That is why I am teaching you the correct way to research your blog topics.”

Salynn Boyles will be the first to tell you that sharing some foods with your pet may be ok, unless it is chocolate. She immediately points out that chocolate can kill your beloved pet. She goes on to inform us that veterinarians tell WebMD.com that chocolate is one of the most common causes of canine poisoning. Continue reading
